John Sweeney

Clontarf Therapy

I hold a BA Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and have extensive experience supporting clients through trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and bereavement, as well as life transitions, career concerns, and LGBTQ identity support. My therapeutic style is rooted in a humanistic and person-centred framework, incorporating psychoanalytic elements to work deeply with past issues. By exploring these underlying roots, I help clients understand how their history shapes their present.

I believe that hope is the central force that allows us to move toward a more fulfilling life. My approach is both visual and embodied; I stay attuned to body awareness and energy to help you connect with your physical and emotional experiences. Because life’s challenges often raise profound questions about meaning and responsibility, I provide a safe space to explore those uncertainties and create a personal sense of purpose.

Drawing on my background in people-focused roles, I prioritize deep listening and trust. My goal is to empower you to tap into your inherent resilience, embrace your choices, and work toward living a more authentic and fulfilling life.
